Janurary 2011

Here we have almost completed the first month of 2011 and what have the Lowry's been up to??Well, there have been snow days and sledding, Shannon completed a wrestling clinic, Eamon started basketball, we had a Saturday pancake fundraiser at Applebee's for Eamon's soccer team (see pic below), sleepovers with friends and a trip to the Massanutten Water park, Shannon competed in an indoor track meet and he started gymnastics.

At the pancake fundraiser, the boys on the soccer team were the "waiters" for the breakfast. Eamon found that his out-going personality gave him quite the talent for this type of work, he did a good job of serving his "customers".

And today we had a quiet Sunday at home and we found that Eamon is quite a chef as well. He came to me and said he would like to have some stir-fry. We had plenty of vegetables in the fridge, so I told him that if he wanted stir-fry, he could make it himself. So, Eamon chopped the veggies and with a little direction, made a great-looking stir-fry (see pic above).

Shannon took advantage of this quiet Sunday to get out an old toy. He built this car track and spent some time running his vechicles over the jump - trying to complete the jump without crashing.

Here we managed to catch one of the vechicles in mid-flight.

I took advantage of this "quiet Sunday" to get a few small projects done at home. I cleaned out my refrigerator freezer and put together this vegetable soup, which was mighty good after being flavored up by Craig.
What a great way to end the first month of 2011!!
